We Stay Home -- So You Don't Have To!!

You're thinking "What kind of a business owner not only turns business away - but talks about it on her website?!"

I'm that kind of business owner.

I'm highly selective about everything I do and know that I can't be everything to everyone. (Besides, it just doesn't make sound business sense, does it?)  Some people say I'm just not their cup of tea.  That's okay.

I'm realistic about Peggie's Pet Services, LLC strengths.  As a result we hand-pick our clients as much as they hand-pick us.

There are a few things we just can't do -- but we can usually provide excellent recommendations of pet-care professionals who can  - so don't hesitate to ask for a referral.

Review the following list to make sure we're a fit for you, and ask for a referral if:

  • You live outside our service area.  We take our commitment to your pet's safety seriously -- as such we service a select area.  That way we plan get to your pet at any time - even during a natural or man-made disaster;
  • Your pet has not been spayed/neutered
    (exception -- if your pet is too young to spay/neuter please contact the office);
  • Your pet has bitten or otherwise harmed another pet or person;
  • Your pet doesn't have basic social manners (exception - we specialize in helping puppies with potty training!);
  • You're looking for a doggie day care, boarding or a puppy play group;
  • You're looking for a group training class;
  • You want us to take your pet into our home;
  • You want your dog to participate in group or "pack" walks;
  • You're looking for a kennel;
  • You have a limited pet-care budget that is better spent on maintaining your pet's health;
  • You leave your dog &/or cat outside unattended and expect us to as well (this includes dogs and cats with free access to doggie/kitty doors while we are not there);
  • Your dog pulls excessively on the leash (unless you are currently working with a qualified trainer and would like to work with one of our sitters who can maintain your training program);
  • You have ABSOLUTELY no control over your schedule and frequently need care with less than five hours notice;
  • You often have EXTRA pets in your home that are not covered in your pet-care-info form and vet release; (talk to us about setting up a plan if you are a Foster pet-care provider);
  • Your pet needs 24/7 hour medical care;
  • Your dog is highly anxious or protective during your absence and prevents us from accessing your home;
  • You expect the exact same sitter each and every time you travel or throughout the life of your contract with our company;
  • Your pet hasn't been to a vet since the LAST Bush administration; or
  • You can't provide keys for all doors (including building access) and security or parking passes as necessary.

This recent article from the "World of Professional Petsitting" The Bimonthly Magazine for Professional PetSitters, highlights some of the many reasons we do not take dogs to the dog park.  Please be sure to read through the risks so that you make a well-informed decision when selecting a care-giver for your dog.
