How to Prevent Ticks This Summer

by | Nov 10, 2021 | Must Read | 0 comments

Ticks are a common nuisance pest that can carry disease and pose a threat to your pets. They attach themselves to dogs and cats, as well as humans, so it’s important for everyone in the household to be aware of how to prevent ticks from infesting your area. Ticks live in wooded areas or grassy fields near trails, where they wait on blades of grass or leaves for an animal or human host to come by. If you’re out walking your dog this summer, make sure you know what precautions need to be taken before going back inside!

Here are some ways to prevent tick bites this summer.

1) Check your body for ticks after being in an outdoor environment, especially if you have been bushwhacking or through brushy areas.

2) wear light clothes so as not to increase the possibility of a tick getting trapped underneath clothing and biting you.

3) Spray insect repellent on your clothes rather than your skin – this will help prevent mosquitoes from biting you as well as preventing any chance of ticks attaching themselves onto those parts of your body where they would be harder to see.
